IWA 2017 WORLD PREMIRE: TWO NEW PENCOTT® CAMOUFLAGE PATTERNS UNVEILED!

PenCott-WildWood®

WildWood® is a new pattern developed at the request of Polish Special Forces, through a deep collaboration between Hyde Definition® and Helikon-Tex®. It is based on the well-proven and widely used PenCott® pattern geometry.

With the development of WildWood®, we strived to create a pattern optimized for the moderate climate woodland areas of Central and Eastern Europe. We started the process by adjusting the tonal values of GreenZone® by adding more brown shades, and de-saturating the bright green. We used in-the-field digital color sampling to create the palette for WildWood® and then evaluated several iterations as digital prints in the field to optimize and finalize the color values and standards for production.

WildWood® incorporates all of the features that make the PenCott® patterns the most advanced and effective concealment solutions on the market today:

  • 3-in-1 / 360° pattern geometry: the inclusion of large, medium and small fractal shapes makes the patterns effective at close, mid, and long range – and, because of its non-linear orientation, the full effectiveness of the pattern is retained whether the wearer is standing, kneeling or prone.
  • Depth + Blending + Disruption: the combination of multi-sized fractal shapes, high-difference boundary layers and a hypoacuitively dithered micro-pattern creates the illusion of depth, whilst also creating a pattern that both blends into the terrain and disrupts the shape of the wearer.
  • Naturalistic tones and textures: the complex, hybrid design delivers a pattern that looks more organic and more naturally textured than typical digital or analogue patterns.

WildWood® joins our existing family of GreenZone® for verdant environments, BadLands® for transitional and semi-arid environments, SnowDrift® for snow-covered environments, and

SandStorm® for arid and desert environments. WildWood® is also compatible with GreenZone®, which is a plus for users who’ve already invested in that pattern.

The first garments in PenCott-WildWood® will be displayed exclusively at the Helikon-Tex booth, Hall 9, Stand #222.

PenCott-MetroPolis®

MetroPolis® is a new pattern developed by Hyde Definition® based on the well-proven and widely-used PenCott® pattern geometry. The result of 5 years of development effort, MetroPolis® is optimized for industrial / built-up environments, and low-light / night operations.

The overall tone of MetroPolis® is lighter than many other ‘urban’ patterns because lighter colors darken in low light levels, but still maintain disruption and blending performance. Patterns

which use predominantly dark colors tend to ‘blob out’ under low light conditions, which lessens their performance.

The unique color palette of MetroPolis® was derived from an extensive analysis of scientific data published by NATO and US military camouflage research. We also took direct input from elite military and police special operations professionals with operational experience in industrial and built-up environments.
